"We strongly believe that the bicycle will increase the quality of life." said Saris Cycling Group (SCG) president Chris Fortune. "The Bike Fed is the organization that will improve bicycling in our state. We're proud to host the Saris Gala, but we did not do this alone. This is a community event that relies heavily on volunteers and the generous support of our industry partners." The first Saris Gala in 2003, was planned in four weeks and was a glorified pizza and beer affair. Since those modest beginnings, the gala has turned into one of the country's biggest fundraisers benefitting a bicycle advocacy organization. This year, we were extremely lucky to have members from the 1986 7-Eleven Team join our event. Learn more about the team. They shared their stories from their experiences as the first U.S. team to compete in the Tour de France. Thank-you Team 7-Eleven!
